Pinecone Kits

Ever wonder how to get wonderful looking pinecones made for your fireplace tool sets or other items?

We have made it easy for you with our kit.

  Start with 2 blanks and your rod.  (I usually use 1/2" round stock for this)

 Weld The 2 blanks on the rod starting on the top and spaced 90 degrees apart.

  Clamp in a vice.

  Using a torch, start to heat the blanks and slowly turn them around the rod working down.

  Continue heating until the blank is completely wrapped around the rod.

  Almost done.

  The wrapped cone.

  Using the torch and screw driver, bend the cone fingers into shape.

  Also using the torch, melt the tips of the fingers.

  Wire brush all of the scale from the cone.

  While still hot wire brush with a brass brush to give your cone a gold patina.

  The formed cone.

  Melt beeswax on your cone to protect the finish.

  A completed set.
